NCWiseOwl Update
A few changes...
As most of you are aware, there is a password available to students and teachers to use with NCWiseOwl when off campus. Effective August 5th that password will be changing. Please contact your regional consultant for this password. While the password cannot be shared on public facing websites, please feel free to share with parents and students on paper flyers, bookmarks, etc.

Also, a new resource from EBSCO has been added to the NCWiseOwl site. You will now see a link for Explora in each of the school zones. Explora will be replacing Searchasaurus, Kids Search, and Student Research Center. Over the next few weeks, we will be removing the links to those three resources that are being discontinued by EBSCO. Teachers and students should be able to use Explora to access content that they are accustomed to receiving from those three resources.

Over the next few weeks, we will also be sharing our NCWiseOwl Toolkit that will provide links to promotional materials and tutorials. We are also excited about Wiseowl Wednesdays. We have webinars planned for Wednesdays throughout the school year. Also the @ncdpiDTL twitter account will have special NCWiseOwl related tweets on Wednesdays.

Digital Learning Day began in 2012 with the simple goal of powering the wave of digital innovation that was transforming a small number of schools and districts. These pockets of innovation existed, but far too many students were excluded from the type of personalized, interactive, and engaging learning experiences that technology makes possible. Although we are still making progress toward ensuring equitable access to technology both in and out of school, there is so much to celebrate on the upcoming fifth anniversary of Digital Learning Day!

We hope that you will mark your calendars and join thousands of educators, students and communities in celebrating the evolution of teaching and learning in the 21st century. Why? Change is hard, and changing entire school systems is even harder. But, together, we are making it happen.
We want to hear from you!

Next year, Digital Learning Day will be undergoing some changes as well. Complete this brief six-question survey to help determine the direction of 2016 activities. Your opinion matters, and it only takes less than a minute to share it!
